I made a trade earlier, but my position did not go in my favour quick enough, so I closed out at breakeven.

I could have waited for a clearer signal, as highlighted in the Yellow zone. [Sell = Red Candle crossing Tekan Sen] [BUY = Green Candle crossing Tekan Sen]. Need to factor this in for future references.
